WILSON - Kevin Patrick Woods, 54 of Wilson passed away Sunday. A celebration of life will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

The family receiving friends Wednesday afternoon from 2 - 3:45 at Joyner's Funeral Home and other times at the home of Tony "Wingmaster" Gaetano.

Kevin was born in Greenville, South Carolina and in 1968 the family moved to Durham where he attended elementary and middle school. In 1981 he moved to Greenville and graduated from JH Rose High School. He later graduated with honors from Pitt Community College with a double major in criminal justice and corrections and then attended BLET in Salemburg and became an officer with both the New Bern and Greenville Police Departments. He served the NC Highway Patrol for thirty years as a Master Trooper.

He was a devoted Christian (God Wins), favorite hubby, marvelous dad, #1 son and brother, and best friend/adopted dad who will remain in the hearts of all who loved him and who he loved forever and ever Amen.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Trish D. Woods of the home; son, Jake C. Woods of Wilson; mother, Frances Cole Woods of Sylva; sisters, Therese Griffin and husband, Steve of Durham and Maria Gilbert of Durham and his brothers, Michael Woods of Sylva, Timmy Woods and partner, Euridice Silva of Knoxville, Tennessee and Brian Woods and wife, Susan of Alliance.

He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd V. Woods.
