Wendy Bloom Obituary
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home, Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton with visitation to follow.
Wendy was a graduate of Rosewood High School's Class of 1994 and was a graduate of East Carolina University and the University of California at Los Angeles. She is survived by her loving mother, Teresa Askew Powell of Greenville; grandmother, Jean Askew of Rosewood; two aunts, Deborah Carswell-Spyrison and Susan Whitley; and an uncle, Paul Askew. She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Bloom; and grandfather, Melvin Askew.

I remember Wendy and her Mother well as a surgical resident at Duke 1987-1992. I had the privilege of caring for her on many hospital stays. Wendy and her Mother were and have continued to be an inspiration for me in Courage and Love.

Wendy inspired me and all her fellow students at ECU. She could convey more with her eyes than the rest of us with our voices. What a celebration of life she demonstrated! Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who loved her.
