Ann Hanson Obituary

MONMOUTH - Ann U. Hanson, 94, Albia, Iowa, formerly of Monmouth, died at 9:55 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at the Monroe Care Center, Albia.
She was born Dec. 21, 1920, in Lindsay, Nebraska, the daughter of John and Catherine (Ruffing) Ruppert. She was raised and educated in Lindsay, Nebraska.
Ann married Leonard Hanson on March 26, 1940, in Albion, Nebraska. They were married 63 years until his passing in 2003.
Ann was a homemaker. She enjoyed music and when she was younger she sang on the Norfolk, Nebraska radio station.
She was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Lou Harvey of Hasting, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Cheryl Brewer of Centerville, Iowa, Carolyn Hise of Knoxville, Rick Harvey of Juniata, Nebraska, Ron Harvey of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Sheila Maly of Lincoln, Nebraska; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jack (Phyllis) Ruppert of Springfield, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Mary Ann Damewood; granddaughter, Diane Sue Brown; five brothers; and two sisters.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, at Monmouth Cemetery. No visiting hours are planned. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to Care Initiatives Hospice in Albia, Iowa and left at the funeral home.
