Dale Lybarger Obituary

GALESBURG - Dale C. Lybarger, 82, Galesburg, passed away Feb. 2, 2013, at the Marigold Health Care Center Galesburg. He was born in Smithshire on March 18, 1930, the son of Floyd and Lucille Gibb Lybarger. He married Barbara E. McEvers on Oct. 7, 1951, she preceded him on Sept. 3, 2012.
He is survived by one son Gregory (Tracy) Lybarger of Galesburg; three grandchildren, Paul (Beth), Kirsten, and Jehrid; one brother, Raymond Lybarger of Abingdon. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a grandson.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, 1949-1952. He was a member of Lawson Babbitt American Legion Post. He served on the Roseville Town Board for over 50 years. He opened Dale's Phillips 66 Service Station on Jan. 1, 1954. Dale and his wife and Dennye Bullock owned and operated Lybarger Oil in Macomb for 20 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors at the grave. Family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Corman Memorial Home, Roseville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Legion Post. Please sign the online guestbook at www.cormanmh.com. Corman Memorial Home, Roseville, is in charge of the arrangements.
