David R. Rupert

KNOXVILLE - David R. Rupert, 49, Knoxville, died at 1:32 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016, at home.
He was born Jan. 20, 1967, in Galesburg, the son of Richard and Jody Lehne Rupert. He married Brenda Mitchell on June 25, 1988, in Galesburg.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; his children, Mitchell Rupert, Ashley (fiancé Josh Swank) Rupert and Morgan Rupert, all of Knoxville; his brother, Tom Rupert of Davenport, Iowa; his sister, Beth (Jim) Norris of Galesburg; and his grandpuppy, Daisy. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Jerry, in 1998.
Dave worked for Hy-Vee Foods in Galesburg and Canton, and Hi-Lo Grocery in Abingdon for several years. He later worked for MSI in Galesburg for nine years. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1985 and had attended Carl Sandburg College. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Dave enjoyed coaching, attending his children's sporting events and golfing. He loved vacationing in Mexico and hanging out with family and friends. He was an avid Notre Dame, Chicago Cub and Chicago Bears fan.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2016, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2016, at the chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
