Gurnie Jordan Obituary
He was born July 7, 1936, in Centerville, Iowa, to Gurnie Edward and Flora Inez (Glasgow) Jordan.
After graduating high school, he served in the Marine Corps and was stationed in Japan.
He married Carolyn Green on Dec. 14, 1958, in Savannah, Tennessee. She preceded him in death on Aug. 22, 1973. He married Shirley Bowman on Feb. 22, 1974, in Woodhull, Illinois. She preceded him in death on Sept. 13, 2012. He enjoyed antiquing and collecting pocket watches. He loved traveling the back roads of the Tucson desert with his wife Shirley.
He was a machinist at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1993.
He is survived by a brother, Dennie Jordan of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; and three daughters, Julie Pruett of Quincy, Illinois, Jayne Lamb of Woodhull, Illinois, and Jodie Jordan of Aurora. There are also two grandchildren, Jaime Schnowske (Lee) of Alpha, Illinois, and Brennan Pruett of Broomfield; and two great-grandsons, Axl and Ace Schnowske of Alpha, Illinois.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Janiece Thalmann and Carol Bogeart; a nephew, Joshua Jordan; and a niece, Kris Thalmann.
