Richard Kitch Obituary

ORLANDO, Fla. - Richard D. Kitch Jr., 40, Orlando, Fla., formerly of Galesburg, died at 7:20 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2010, at Orlando Florida Hospital East Emergency Room in Orlando, Fla.
He was born March 8, 1970, in Macomb, Ill., the son of Richard D. and Ruby Taylor Kitch Sr. He married Julie M. Powell on Nov. 18, 1992, in Macomb, Ill. She survives of Galesburg, Ill.
Also surviving are daughters Kayla M. Kitch of Aledo, Ill., and Torie J. Kitch of Galesburg, Ill.; son David Nial Kitch of Orlando, Fla.; granddaughter Brylee R. Kitch; mother and stepfather Ruby (David) Graham of Galesburg, Ill.; his father, Richard D. Kitch Sr. of Camden, Ill.; brothers Arthur A. (Sherry) Kitch of Henderson, Ill., and Tim J. (Tab) Phillips of Galesburg, Ill.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He was raised and educated in Bushnell and Industry, Ill., graduating from Galesburg High School in 1988. He excelled in track, football, basketball and diving; after graduating he continued his sports. He enjoyed bowling, bowling a perfect score of 300.
He enjoyed fishing and loved his dog, Brandi.
He attended Western Illinois University in Macomb for one year, studying engineering.
He served in the United States Army Reserves, then transferred to the United States Navy in 1988 and served as a nuclear propulsion plant operator trainee.
He worked as a truck driver, as a manager for Ruby Tuesday's Restaurant, as an electrician for J&M Control in Galesburg, Ill., and then as a cable technician for DDR Concepts in Florida until his death.
Rick never found an obstacle to large to conquer.
He was of Christian faith.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Friends may call Saturday, May 22, at the home of Arthur Kitch, 428 Knox Highway 37 in Henderson, Ill., from 1 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family for the Richard "Rick" Kitch Jr. Memorial.
