Catherine Plummer Obituary
Cathi was employed by Everett Community College and Eastern Washington University. She retired November 1, 2015.
Cathi is survived by her mother, Andy Lynn; husband, Dennis Barton; son, Seth Plummer-Barton; granddaughter, Lilyana Plummer-Barton; sister, Carol Plummer; step-brother, Jerry (Kristi) Lynn; step-sister, Donna Lynn; nieces, Kayla Plummer-Backus and Heather (Ryan) Hoxie; nephew, Cory (Tori) Plummer.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dean Plummer, step-father, Clyde Lynn, and brother, Jim Plummer.
Cathi had a variety of interests. She did crossword puzzles every morning, loved gardening and watching the hummingbirds. She enjoyed golfing and traveling, liked to try new recipes and loved to entertain. She was very social, never met a stranger, made friends easily, and hugged everyone. She was an animal lover. She liked to drive fast and "talk" to other drivers. She enjoyed giving tacky gifts, and never backed down from an argument. She had a great sense of humor. Cathi will be remembered for her smile and easy-going nature.
Cathi delighted in gathering with family. More than anything she loved her family and was always there to support them. One of her great joys was doing art and hanging with her grand-daughter, Lilyana. She always had hopes and dreams for her son, Seth. Dennis was the love of her life.
Cathi had the capacity to look optimistically at everyone's potential and embrace the positive in them. She had the ability to make even the most hard-hearted people love her back! Her optimism and joy for life, and the people in it, were contagious. It seemed close to impossible to be in her company and not "catch" the happiness that she exuded.
Cathi died May 24, 2018. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

So very sad to hear! My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. Cathi had an amazing spirit. She would do anything to help anyone. She had a unique way of always making you feel comfortable leaving you with a smile on your face. I have very fond memories of my time working with Cathi through CWTAP. She will be missed!

I can't believe this is real, She may not have been blood but Cathi, Dennis, Seth & Lilly will ALWAYS BE FAMILY to me. I have known Cathi & Dennis since i was just a little girl. Seth and my brother were just little babies. Cathi & Dennis both are like my second family. They both have watched me grow from a little girl into a woman. They seen the struggles i had threw school, They watched me graduate from high school, that summer we all went to Puerto Vallarta Mexico, Cathi the free spirited person she is, tried to get me to eat FRIED FROG LEGS at Senor frogs restaurant on that trip. YUCK! nope i wasnt having it. Lol We had sooo much fun. "IT'S A FLOWER WITH A BEE ON IT" you never did let me forget that embarrassing moment of mine. Lol Cathi and Dennis both were also right there with me to celebrate my 21st birthday, along with many, many many more other of my milestones of my life. They both were at the hospital awaiting my son's arrival into the world. Cathi was even there the day my son came home from the hospital. Soooo many memories, I wish we had time for many more. She was such a loving person. She hugged everyone she met. She never had anything bad to say about anyone. She always looked at the best in everyone. Always smiling. She had the biggest heart anyone could ever have. I just dont understand WHY GOD WOULD TAKE YOU AWAY SO SOON. WHY? My heart is so heavy knowing ill never get to hear your laugh/snort again. That when i pick up the phone i will never hear your voice on the other end. No more Halloween trick or treating nights, No more fun times with you down at the river, and the hardest thing im trying to cope with right now.... IS THAT YOUR NOT HERE TO CELEBRATE ALL OF THE BIRTHDAY'S LIKE WE ALWAYS DID. It's never going to be the same. We always went out to dinner for all of our birthday's. Its never going to be the same without you. God dam I miss you soooo much words cant explain how much i miss you. FLY HIGH OUR LITTLE HUMMINGBIRD FLY HIGH & WATCH OVER YOUR FAMILY AS I KNOW YOU WILL. Dance to Melissa all day long. If i only would have gotten the chance to tell you HOW MUCH YOU REALLY DO MEAN TO ME & HOW MUCH I ❤ YOU CATHI PLUMMER. YOU ARE FAMILY AND ALWAYS WILL BE. The best friend in the entire world, Cathi would do anything for anyone, she is the best. I can't imagine the world without Cathi Jean Plummer. Love you always.

Cathi was one of the sweetest, funniest, and most caring person we could ask for. Every time we saw her and Dennis she would always give you a big hug. We are truly blessed to have had the time to have spent with her. She was always part of the family and we will truly miss her. The hummingbird feeders are up and full. Stop by anytime sweetie. I had the honor of having Cathi in my life since I was a little girl. We may not have been blood, but she was more like family than most. She was one of the funnest people to be around. The love she showed to everyone was one of her most beautiful assets. Her smile, her enthusiasm for life, her personality and her big heart is what I'll remember her by. She was an amazing woman. I'll cherish the memories.
I am truly blessed to have called Cathi Plummer my friend.
Miss Cathi...you will be dearly missed. I Love You.

So sorry to hear of Cathi's passing. I was a fellow Sheldon classmate and Cathy with a "y". And although I wasn't a close friend of Cathi's, it was hard to miss her energetic personality when you were around her. I regret that I didn't get the opportunity to know her better. My condolences to the family.
