Daniel Evans Obituary

Daniel C. Evans of Eugene passed away Nov. 15th of a cardiac event at his home. He was 76. Dan was born January 9, 1936 in Whittier, CA to Fay and Evelyn Evans. He spent his childhood and youth in Salt Lake City, Utah. He joined the Air Force and was stationed in Germany where he met and married his wife, Kamilla Evans on November 22,1960. He is survived by his wife, Kamilla (Connie); their 6 children: Dee Evans of Veneta; Craig Evans of Hermiston; Wes Evans of Portland; Zach Evans of Middleton, ID; Kellie Kohler of Eagle, ID; and Kacie Evans of Hermiston. 16 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Kay Sorenson of Lehi, UT; and Jane Hatfield of Lehi, UT; and 1 brother, Jeff Evans of Kaysville, UT.

Dan was the founder and president of A-1 Coupling and Hose, which he started in Eugene 40 years ago. He was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served in various leadership positions. His favorite was the 19 years he spent serving in the Portland Temple. Dan was the happiest when he was spending time with his family and taking special trips with his grandchildren every year. Dan was a big Oregon Duck Fan and supporter. He faithfully attended games for the past 30 years with his family and was a true fan through the good and the lean years. Dan attended the recent Rose Bowls and National Championship and was glad to see his Ducks finally win The Grand Daddy of Them All. He also loved golf and was a long time member of the Eugene Country Club.

Viewing will be from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. and memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday November 24th at the LDS Chapel on 550 N. Danebo Avenue, Eugene. In lieu of flowers, donations which will be used to help those in need may be sent to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Santa Clara 4th Ward Relief Society Fund in care of Bishop Greg Hansen, 1860 Cedar Brook Drive, Eugene, OR 97402.

I am so sorry for your loss and know of the grief you are feeling. I, too, am very sad, as I would not be where I am today if Dan & Connie had not brought me into this wonderful church. He was a wonderful man and is now with our Heavenly Father. You are constantly in my prayers. Love you folks so much.

Dan,
Can you sneak out and golf a few with me after work? I know Connie will understand and no doubt hold dinner for you. Not this time? Then you will surely be missed my friend.

Connie, I will never forget how thoughtful, kind and considerate he was of others feelings. He always made me feel like I was important, talking to him was like being in the temple, I always felt at peace and loved. I miss him already, and look forward to when we can see him again.
We love you, and are praying for the Savior to hold you in the hollow of His hand, and for you to feel His great love for you, and be at peace. Remember you are not alone. You are loved more than I can express in words, warm hugs, Joyce Harris
