Gloria Nordstrom Obituary

A Celebration of Life to honor Gloria will be held Saturday, June 20th from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at 329 Glen Mar Ave., Eugene. She passed away in April from breast cancer.

She was born in Oakland, CA and spent her childhood in the Bay Area. She moved to Los Angeles at age 22 to pursue a career in television. She became an accomplished television editor, engineer and technical director, being one of the first women to do so.

She adored all animals, especially her dogs and horses. Gloria loved traveling. Her favorite destination was the South Pacific. She fell in love with the beauty of Oregon and made it her home in 2005.

Gloria was a devoted sister and friend to her three brothers and two sisters. Her family wishes to thank her friends and extended family who so beautifully expressed their love and shared grief. And a special thanks to Sacred Heart Hospice for their thoughtfulness and the wonderful care they provided. All of this love brought great comfort to Gloria and her sister during her final days.

I met Gloria, and her wonderful sister, not so long ago. They both taught me many lessons without knowing it. I watched Gloria go through some very rough times and never gave up. She worked hard to battle an illness and overcome physical challenges, I never once heard a complaint. Thank you for sharing this with me and teaching me how to be a better woman, especially to my sister. You are GREATLY missed!
