Our precious "Johnny Boy" has left too soon. Dying in a tragic car accident along with his first love Lucy Rubio.
He was born in San Jose, Costa Rica, where he spent a majority of his life living with his Dad Jim, on the beach in Playa del Coco.
John came to Oregon with Jim when he was 14. Getting to know his big family and a different way of life. Anyone who knew John used similar words to describe him. The first impression was how polite and kind. Sweet, caring, goofy, handsome and a good young man. He enjoyed all kinds of music, had an artistic talent for drawing, dancing, singing and expressing himself, fishing, crabbing, and travel adventures. He had a great sense of style and charm, loved his shoes and caps, detailed haircuts and some bling. He had an interest in cool cars like his Grandpa Jensen, feeling the thrill of driving his 41 Chevy Coupe and his Dad's 69 Cadillac Coupe de Ville.
He loved and cared for Lucy in a gentle and respectful way. Her family has told us stories that make us proud. Really showing his posture as an adult.
Jim will be returning to Costa Rica for a celebration of John's life on July 4th and spread his ashes at Playa Huevos. He will be joined by many friends and chosen family as well as John's mother Margaret Chap's family.
John is survived in Oregon by his Dad Jim Jensen and family - Bob Jensen, Connie Jensen, cousins Kiana, Lena, Cole, brother Sam - grandparents Hanne and Steen Bukkehave, and Heidrun Jensen. Mother Margaret Chap of Arizona and little sister Kaila. Lucy Rubio's mother Wren and all her beautiful family that loved John.
Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary - Graveside service June 4 at 1:00 at West Lawn cemetery.
