Lee Eide Obituary

Lee died February 14, 2018. He was born in Aberdeen, Washington to Roy and Naomi Herbig Eide. He spent his childhood in Centerport, NY and his teens in San Mateo, CA. He graduated from the U of O and lived in Eugene for most of the years since.

He worked in graphic arts and publication design, including 15 years at Aster Publishing/Advanstar, ending as Corporate Creative Director.

He is survived by his wife of very nearly 25 years, Rina; his sister and brother-in-law, Priscilla and Bill Petersen; his sister-in-law Nancy LeNoir; his nephew Erik Petersen; his niece and her husband, Daphne and Chris Brown; and his great nephew Fletcher Brown.

For a peaceful man, he mounted an aggressive war on bindweed - and anything else that threatened his garden. (Turkeys were rapidly moving up his most-wanted list.) He could also turn a little vicious with his badminton smash.

His storytelling could render people breathless with laughter. We will never stop missing his wry smile.

Lee was always quietly going about his responsiblities, it seemed to me that he was a person who could be relied on to see things through, to get them done and I never doubted his ability to handle whatever came up in the pursuit of turning out truly memorable work on behalf of APC.

I'm so very sorry to hear this. Thank you for the wonderful story of Lee fighting the turkeys. Whenever I think you him in his garden it will make me smile. Love for you. Lynda

Rina I am so sorry to hear this. We had years of sharing a love of blues on the radio of our adjoining office space. I can never hear Robert Cray without thinking of Lee. I'll think of him now as I attack the weeds coming up in the veggie garden. Peace and Love, Barbara Mickelson

I'm thinking of you, Rina. Lee was a wonderful, kind man. I've never forgotten he told me he would come home from work and spend time with his cat in "Petitation". My younger sister, Gloria, and I were just recalling both of you in a phone conversation a few weeks ago. Take good care.
