Anna (Varrone) Della Camera, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at the age of 94, surrounded by the love of her family on Sunday, April 20, 2025. A woman of strength, compassion, and unwavering devotion, Anna touched the lives of all who knew her. Her heart and home were always open to those she loved.
Anna is survived by her treasured sister and best friend, Adeline Asetta of Oakville; and her three children: David Della Camera and his wife Mary Kay, Joann Bowyer and her husband Walter, and Theodore Della Camera and his wife Patricia as well as her daughter-in-law Dawn Della Camera.
She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren: Ashley Ferratto and her husband Brian, Alexander Bowyer and his wife Kayla, Theodore Della Camera, David Della Camera and his wife Monica, Brian Bowyer, and Matthew Della Camera.
She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren: Griffin Ferratto, Elliott Bowyer, and David Della Camera, and was joyfully anticipating the arrival of two more grandsons in June. Each of them will carry forward her legacy of love, strength, and togetherness. Anna also cherished her many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
She was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Maria J. Varrone; her beloved husband, Alexander, with whom she shared 53 beautiful years; and two sons, Alexander and John. Despite enduring immense heartache, Anna remained a pillar of strength and love for her family. Through every trial, she poured her love into her children and grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and warmth.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Ariana Rodriguez, Anna's devoted home health aide, whose compassion and care brought comfort and joy to Anna's final years.
Anna's funeral will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury to Our Lady of Lourdes Church for a Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
