Joan Maringola Obituary

Joan (Jager) Maringola (76) passed away peacefully, at her home, in Wolcott, on September 4, 2025. Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, on October 22, 1948, she was the daughter of the late John J. Jager Jr. and Eva Arvilla (Lake) Jager and the sister of the late Virginia (Ginny) Pandiscia. She leaves her son, Aaron Goluboff and daughter-in-law, Tracey; her granddaughter, Kaitlin Kennedy; a stepsister, Debra Franco; three nephews: John J. Pandiscia (Anne), Brian J. Pandiscia, and David M. Pandiscia (Katrina); and seven great-nephews and nieces: Eva Pandiscia, Ashley Gawrych (Michael), Emily, Jacob, Julia, Benjamin, and Nathan Pandiscia.
Joan, a longtime Wolcott resident, graduated from Wolcott High School in 1966. In the early 1970s, she owned her own hair dressing salon in Torrington. Then she served as an aide at Brooker Memorial. After serving as an aide, she earned a certificate from Porter and Chester Institute, and then began working in the office of Albano & Greenwald Family Dentistry, in Waterbury, where she finished her working career.
Joan was a very devoted mother and aunt. Whether she was telling one of her famous Elvis stories, watching a comedy and laughing her heart out while enjoying some popcorn, entertaining her friends and family, or taste testing some chocolate on her journey to discovering the world's best, Joan knew how to have a good time. She found joy in the simple, and she saw beauty in things that most people look past.

We were so sad to hear that Joan has passed away. My parents, John and Elaine loved her so much! Their road trips with Joan, Bobby and my parents were an eating marathon! Our sincere condolences and prayers. I will always remember her laugh.

I was a patient for years and my husband and kids she was a wonderful woman always kind and we would chat and laugh. Then I would see her at pats IGA here in town. A true Loss sympathy to her family
