I was a kid without honorand then there was SGTMAJ Olgle USMC a father to us all he changed my life and saved it. The path I was headed wasn´t good. He taught me respect to others and honur for myself I just heard the news. My heart is broken. I always tryed to live my life with everything He tought me. With out the best man I have ever known. You were an inspiration and mentor to me during high school. And over the years, through my own military career, I often thought of and relied on the lessons you taught us way back then. You have had a profound impact to my life and hundreds of other RHS alumni. You continue to inspire and mentor me even though we haven't had contact in 25 years. See you in the warriors section of heaven.

Sgt.Maj. David Oglel was one of the finest men that I have ever known. He always carried himself with the greatest respect for country and his fellow men. The influence he had on 100's of students at RHS can never be measured. What an inspiration he was for so many years. His loss will be painful.

It is with great sorrow that we are only now hearing of the passing of SGTMAJ Ogle. A Marine's Marine, his is a legacy of true servant leadership that will endure for decades. For over 30 years I have relied on the lessons I learned from this great man to guide me, and they have NEVER let me down. Like it is with so many friends from the Corps, you only spend a short time together, but David & Alice Ogle hold a bright and special place in the hearts of the Shoulders Family that will never fade. Some of our fondest family memories are wrapped in the times we spent together, and we will always be grateful to the Lord above that He brought you into our lives. My Sympathies to the family. I met Dave as a Volunteer at Silver Cross Hospital. He was always a joy to work with, always had a smile on his face and always eager to do his job, and I miss him. I did NOT know him as Sgt. Major Ogle, But am so proud to learn about him through these touching tributes.

I met Dave 35 years ago while bowling in the teachers league in Romeoville. For 30 years, we were team mates and great friends. The world has lost a great individual who was always concerned about other people.

Carrie and I are deeply sadened at the news of Sgt Major Ogle's passing. You will never find a greater man of character and inspirational influence. I had the privilege to work with Sgt. Major Ogle at Romeoville H.S. I also know that after he retired, he volunteered at Silver Cross Hospital. He was one of the kindest and gentlest men that I have ever met. He gave so much to the world.

He is our mentor, making a impact to all lives who has crossed into his path. Sgt. Major relations to us was much more then a teacher but a memorable bonding with a person full of compassion, rejoice and inspiration.

Dear Aunt Alice & Family, we all have suffered a great lose and I will be praying for you all. Marlene ,Tim,Greg,Curtis & Gene your Mother needs you beside her more than ever before and I hope you will be. I am still at my mothers side after the lose of my Father 18 years ago.Aunt Alice is a very strong person and always has been.
I am sorry we will not be there by your side during this time but know you are in our hearts and minds always.

Sgt. Major Ogle was an amazing person. He was my JROTC teacher in high school and a friend after graduation. I am now a teacher and strive to be the kind of teacher to my students that he was to me. Even though I had not seen him in 20 years he is someone I think of often. We have lost an upstanding citizen. My heart goes out to his wife and family which I know meant the world to him.
