George Sartor Obituary

George Allen Sartor
Abilene

George Allen Sartor, 51, of Abilene went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2012 at his home.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday June 16, 2012 at Crescent Heights Baptist Church, 1902 N. Mockingbird Abilene, TX at 4 pm, with Brother Rudy Fambrough officiating. A BBQ and release of balloons in George's honor will be held at Fort Phantom Lake Johnson Park following the memorial service.
George was born in Abilene to John Young Sartor Jr. and Patricia Sartor on December 24, 1960. He grew up in Abilene and Hawley. He attended Hawley High School where he was active in track and football.
He was later married to the love of his life, Beverly Hanke Sartor on January 15, 1994 in Abilene. George lived in the Abilene area for the majority of his life and for the last eight years resided in Florence, Texas until he recently moved back home to Abilene to be with family.
George was a plumber, carpenter and a glazier installer, and owned his own Patio enclosure company, Nature's Light, until he was diagnosed with stage 4 Lung Cancer in September 2011.
He was a family man and always loved to make people laugh, play practical jokes, and was always there to lend a helping hand. His Grandma, Juanita Sartor, use to tell everyone, "If his lips are moving he is lying". His favorite hobbies included bowling, hunting, fishing, coaching girls' softball and Pop Warner football and spending time with his three grandsons and family.
His father John Young Sartor Jr., 1992, precedes George in death.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly of Abilene, daughter Ila Zimmerman, husband Jonathen of Abilene, a son Jimmy (Donny) Armendariz, wife Nicole of Florence, and daughter Stephanie Torres of Abilene,
and three grandsons, Isaac, Emilio, and Davian all of Abilene. Also survived by
his mother Patricia Sartor,
three brothers, John E. Sartor, Mickey Sartor, wife Terri, and Charles Sartor, wife Tina all of Abilene. George will be truly missed by his nieces and nephews whom knew him not only as an Uncle, but also as an inspiration , many family and friends also survive him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Margaret Wilkerson, sister in law of Abilene and best friends Kevin and Kim Monger of Georgetown, along with Lecia and Brooke of Hendricks Hospice for the great care and help of George during his final days. The family feels the gratitude can never be repaid.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations to be made to Hendricks Hospice of Abilene in honor of George Sartor.

GEORGE WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART.He was the best cousin out of 13 grand kids.He was more like a brother as i was growing up. As the youngest boy in the family at that time.He never cared how young I was, he'd always spend time with me.We even had a rabbit business together. He was always fun to be around.I will always remember his loving ,caring, attitude. And he was funny to watch trying to break one of my horses, when we were young and gung ho.Thanks George for all the wonderfull memories, and bringing a new beutifull set of folks to our family. LOVE YOU ALWAYS. RICHARD SARTOR P.S. SORRY YOUR NOVA COULD NEVER BEAT MY 71 MONTE CARLO.

My dearest George, I love you so very much. You were always there for me no matter the situation. From making me take back a tv to the rent-to-own center and helping me buy one to getting me out of the house after my seperation. There are so many other things. When I look back over my life, you are always there. You were my very best friend, my rock. I love you and although I am happy that you are bowling in heaven...I am very sad that you are not here with me. I love you Georgie!!!
