Abilene, TX
Steven Moreno, 40, died Friday, June 13, 2014 in Abilene. Private family services will be held. Arrangements are by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.
Hijinio Estevan "Steven" was born December 8, 1973 in Abilene to Lupe (Hernandez) and Hijinio G. Moreno. Steven graduated from Merkel High School in 1992 then served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a mechanic, truck driver and oilfield worker. He loved sports and his favorite pastime was spending time with his kids attending their functions.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Bynum; sons, Tyler Whitney and Marcel Estevan Moreno; daughter Angela Michelle Moreno; mother, Lupe Woolf and husband Dennis; granddaughter, La' Zae Whitney all of Abilene; brother, Mark Anthony Moreno; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hijinio; and sister, Angie Moreno.

I will forever have a place in my heart for steven. We had become really close friends. Such a kind caring guy. An awesome father. And no one could make me laugh as hard as he could. The kids and i will forever miss and remember him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to sheila, the kids and the rest of his family.
