Berrett Wayne Welker

1936 - 2023

Our beloved husband, father & grandfather left us on June 18, to be in heaven with his parents, brothers and sisters. Wayne was so loved and we loved him, our rock of support.

Berrett Wayne Welker was born on August 28, 1936 to Vernal and Lucille Welker just a few houses down from where he lived in St. Anthony, Idaho. During Wayne's early years and thru high school the family lived in logging camps during the summer months because their father was a logger. They also lived in West Yellowstone, Montana, and Riggins, Idaho.

Wayne went to school at Lincoln Elementary on the south side of St. Anthony, Idaho. (It has been torn down now) thru the fourth grade, He then moved across town to Central Elementary. He attended South Fremont High School. Unfortunately he failed to graduate due to some circumstances (like I got expelled for something he really didn't do) He tried to go back, it didn't work out so he enlisted in the United States Air Force on November 1954 until 1958. He also received his GED high school equivalent while in the Air Force.

Wayne worked several temporary jobs until he went to for the National Park Service in Yellowstone in 1960. 1974 he was transferred to Sequoia Kings National Park, California. Wayne transferred back to Yellowstone in 1976 as a Facility Manager over the North District of Yellowstone. He retired from Yellowstone in 1988.

Wayne married the love of his life Teresa in 1992.

Wayne has 2 children from a previous marriage with Vicki Tanner in 1965. Jamie (Sarah) Welker and Travis Welker. Vicki had 2 children from a previous marriage, Brett (Brenda) and Desi (Wade). Teresa had Jason Wood from previous marriage, they have 10 grandchildren and numerous great grand kids.

Wayne will be forever loved by his children.
