Lived next to Warren on Park st. in Rexburg for a few years before he and Joan moved to Nampa. A very kind good man and missed him very much. Our little ones were regulars at Grandma Widdisons when it was neighbor kids cookie time at Grandma's.

I knew Warren casually from our mutual visits to the Nampa Recreation Center.
I urged Warren to tell me stories of his WWII experiences. He knew I was a pilot so he obliged. Terrific guy. I idolized him. What a life.

Brother Widdison's daughter, Dianne, and I were close friends during elementary school and high school. One of my favorite memories of Brother Widdison occurred at the local Rexall pharmacy. Diane and I met him at the soda fountain for an afternoon snack. We ordered root beer floats. He suggested that we try our floats with chocolate ice cream instead on vanilla. He said it was a much tastier treat, and he was right. After that day, I always ordered chocolate ice cream root beer floats. I always explained to my companions the reason for the chocolate ice cream in my float. What I loved most about him was his loving and gentle manner of speaking. Dianne and Sharon, in so sorry for your loss. What a blessing to have had him in your lives all these years!

I met Warren at the Recreation Center in Nampa this past year while he was doing his daily walking. I loved seeing him every day. He was such an inspiration. I would say "Hi Warren, how are you today? His answer was always the same. "Oh wonderful! Just wonderful!" And I would always smile. We would chat a bit each time I passed him. I got to know him as he shared stories with me (and many, many others) at the Center. I started worrying about him the last few weeks since I hadn't seen him. I missed those chats. I found out yesterday that he has passed, and it made me so sad. I will remember him for his great cheerfulness and lovely smile. He made my days brighter. May God's love and peace be with his family and friends.
