Diane Douglass Obituary

Diane Douglass

July 13, 1964

July 23, 2013

Diane Douglass, 49, of Reno, NV, passed away peacefully on July 23, after a 3-1/2 year battle with cancer.

She moved on from this life with her brother, Jeff, holding her hand, and surrounded by her loyal partner, Floyd Willis, and dear friend, Barbara Nelson, whom she lovingly called "Peanut".

Diane's peaceful passing was made possible by the care and support of her lifetime friend, Tracy Ullrich.

Diane's hospice team was a blessing and worked with her as true friends; Margot, Trevor, Heidi, Shirley, Denise, Debbie and Iran all made a difference in Diane's life and helped her and her family with this transition.

She was born July 13, 1964 in Hilo, HI, and moved to the Reno area with her family as a child. She attended Stead Elementary School, Traner Middle School and Hug High School.

Diane is survived by her daughter, Sasha Howard, brother, Jeff, mother, Laurel Douglass and Guy Gaumont of Maui, sister Erika Phillips, step sister Angie Fraley, step mother Sylvia Cocozza, and family in Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dewey, and father, George.

Throughout her life she had a love for cats and would find them and bring them home. She made sure that her three cats, Gracie, Marley and Gosha would be taken care of, and they have been adopted by members of her wonderful hospice team.

Diane was proud of her hikes to the summit of Mt. Rose; she was always exhilarated by the beauty of the summit.

The family will be having a private remembrance of Diane and are asking that, in lieu of flowers, a donation in Diane's name be made to the Circle of Life Hospice, 1575 Delucchi Lane, Suite 214, Reno, NV 89502
