Garrett Lauf Obituary
Garrett Scott Lauf, age 22, passed away on June 14, 2021. Garrett was born on September 15, 1998, in Reno, Nevada. He graduated from Reed High School and attended Truckee Meadows Community College, pursuing a Diesel Technician Associate of Applied Science degree. Garrett loved spending time with his family and friends, playing basketball with his dad, and making others laugh and smile. Garrett is survived by his parents, Brian and Molly Lauf, his little sister Avery Lauf, his cat Lewis, grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. To know Garrett was to love him, and he was deeply loved by all that were blessed to know him. Rest in peace, our beautiful Garrett (Gman). A memorial service will be Saturday, June 26, 2021, at noon, at St. John's Presbyterian Church, Reno, with a celebration of life to follow the service.

My heart breaks for your family and I wanted to send my love to you all. Tre told me when it happened and I wanted to give you some time. I have so many wonderful memories of the boys playing football together. Garrett was such a kind soul on and off the field. And we all hold amazing memories in our minds of watching the games. You both are amazing parents and people and I´ve always thought the world of your family. Tre and I saw Garrett at Red Lobster awhile back. He came to our table and talked to us. Such a kind and special person always. He will be missed by all of the people who he touched.

The TMCC community is saddened by the loss of Garrett Lauf. We are reaching out to let you know that the Lauf Family has established a scholarship endowment in Garrett´s memory. As you may know, Garrett was pursuing a Diesel Technology Associate of Science Degree at TMCC. He was well regarded by instructors at TMCC, who said he was a delight to have in class. Garrett was one of the first students that the diesel instructors recommended without hesitation for a position at a local dealership.
The Garrett Lauf Memorial Scholarship Endowment will support students in TMCC´s diesel program. The endowment will provide the opportunity to award a scholarship in Garrett´s memory in perpetuity. I am so sorry for your loss, my daughter went to school with Garrett for many years and he was always so kind. I remember volunteering fir field trips while they were in grade school and he was one of the politest kids. Sending many prayers for your family.
