After not having seen him for years, Mr. Jeppson popped into my head today so I decided to look him up. I had no idea he had passed, and Reno lost a fantastic teacher. I was lucky enough to have him as a teacher almost 30 years ago now, and I still have fond memories of him. I hope his family and friends are all doing well

It has been a little over eight years since your passing. I'm currently in Italy, studying abroad and suddenly sitting in your classroom as a second grader came to mind. I remember how kind you were to me. I remember getting rewarded with gummy bears for getting a math problem correct. I wish i could have told you how much I loved you as a teacher back then. I was just a kid but you made such an impact on me. I used to be so unruly and bratty before your class. You were a friend to me a text such a young age and that has stuck with me to this day. I hope you're resting peacefully and I hope you're still rooting for the 49ers. Best, Jaycee Grider.

I'm am so so terribly sorry to hear about your loss. Mr. Jeppson was my fourth grade teacher at Lincoln Park so many years ago. And he always was the one teacher who made such a big impact on my life & made an impression on me that will last for a lifetime. I will always remember him as the fun caring teacher that encouraged and lifted his students up. My prayers are with you & your son.

Dear Nancy and Kavan,
My heart breaks for your loss. Mr. J was my daughter's teacher at Jesse Hall and I also subbed for him a couple of times. My daughter, Serena, is now in 4th grade and still thinks of Mr. J as her favorite teacher. He was such a kind man and great teacher. I will pray that God comforts you both at this extremely sad and difficult time.

Nancy, I have been at such a loss for words. It is so shocking that someone as wonderful, caring and loving as you are has to go through something so tragic. My family (especially Carter!) absolutely loves you and I hope you know that we are here for anything you need, anything. You are always in my prayers and I hope you and your wonderful son Kavan find the comfort that you need and deserve. You are such a beautiful person and I am so grateful that you were my sons teacher and now also my friend. God bless you and your family.

My daughter Heather was in your husbands class this past year. We moved here in December & I remember the school secretary talking to Heather so she could find out which class to put her in. She spoke to her for about 2 minutes when she said "I've got the perfect teacher for you!".... And your husband was the perfect teacher for her. Heather & I are both deeply saddened by your family's loss. I thank you & your husband so much for being so nice to my daughter & making her feel welcome at her new school.

My son Talon had Mr. Jeppson (or Mr. J as he called him) for 2nd grade last year. He was his favorite teacher and it's because of him that my son now has a love for science. He was was very upset when he heard the news. Mr. Jeppson will be missed.

We are stunned and saddened for your loss. I will always remember Mark's quick, easy smile that went all the way
to those beautiful, kind eyes.
I feel very lucky to have witnessed the incredible bond between Mark and his pride and joy, Kavan. Nancy, you are one of the sweetest people I have ever known and I can only hope that you and Kavan find peace.

Nancy, my heart is broken in a million pieces for you. You are one of the nicest people I have ever had the chance to meet, and I wish you were not going through this grief. Your husband was an extraordinary teacher, just as you are! We will forever keep the letters his (and your) class wrote to John close to our hearts. He has definitely touched this world. If you need ANYTHING at all, you have my phone number. You have done so very much for our family, and I would be honored to help you in your time of need. With much love and sympathy to you, Kavan and your family. John, Diana, and Hailey Floyd

He
Mark wanted no glory. He didn't crave the spotlight. All he wanted was to educate children and raise a good son. He use to be my camera director at the tv studio for the productions of educational childrens shows. He didn't get paid. He did it as a volunteer - just to educate kids. I never heard him say a bad word about anyone. There a soooo many kids - many now adults with kids of their own - who were Mark's students. He is soooo deserving of a loud cry of "THANK YOU, Mr. Jeppson!"

Our son Blake Kirsten was in his 2nd grade class at Jesse Hall. Blake said he was a good teacher!
From Blake's parents:
Mr. Jeppson is a patient and kind teacher. He got Blake up to speed and now is a 3rd grader. We will always be grateful for Mr. Jeppson.

I am so saddened to hear of the loss of Mr. Jeppson, my beloved 4th grade teacher from Lincoln Park. He was an amazing teacher, with a huge heart and uncommon love for students. I could always count on him for his easy smile, willingness to listen, and tons of fun in the classroom. He made everything so fun. I will never forget being in his class and playing games at lunch. I am now a teacher, too, and I always think of him when I'm asked who my favorite teachers were when I was in school. My thoughts, love and prayers go out to Nancy, Kavan, and the rest of the family.
