Ronald Robinson Obituary

Ronald Roosevelt Robinson

January 30, 1934 - November 10, 2020 - Ronald Roosevelt Robinson (Pop or Ron), age 86, succumbed to COVID-19 complications on November 10, 2020 at Renown Hospital in Reno, NV. He was born on January 30, 1934 in Highland Park, Michigan son of the late Herbert and Elsie Robinson.

Surviving are his wife June, 3 children Lynn Chavez (Pete), Steven (Ruth), Christopher (Amanda) along with 3 grandchildren Ashley, Lauren, and Phealan, 10 great-grandchildren whom he loved deeply. He was the rock of the family and we will miss him truly.

Pop joined the USAF at the age of 18 and retired in 1973 (22 yrs.) as an EOD TSgt. While stationed in England, he met and married his beloved wife of 65 years, June Gallagher. Before retiring from the USAF, he started working as a truck driver and retired from Apex after 22 years. They traveled the world, raised their children in Apple Valley, CA and in 2008 moved and settled in Reno, NV.

All who knew Pop will cherish wonderful memories of his grand demeanor, a kind soul, any stranger he met became a friend, loved to joke and make people laugh. He was always there with an ear to listen, no judgment, just advice and love. His passion for aircraft, whether working on them in the USAF or learning about them, brought him great enjoyment. He also enjoyed camping, reading, and sailing competitively or leisurely; but most importantly loved spending time with family and friends.

Pop was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jim, daughter Karen and granddaughter Jennifer.

Pop will be laid to rest at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley, NV. In his memory, donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, The Northern Nevada Alzheimer's Association or a children's charity of your choice.

My Uncle Ron was a loving , sweet man . He always had a wonderful. Smile and caring way about him. My fondest memory of Uncle Ron was when we were little he took us out with a parachute. and looking back remember how the wind carried us, laughing and holding on . And alot of other wonderful memories of swimming at their home in Apple Valley. I always looked forward to their visits when they would come back to Apple Valley. .And many wonderful phone conversations. I will miss you. My Deepest Sympathy to the family .rest in peace.

Uncle Ron was truly an amazing man. My life, as a little girl, was made so much better, because of Uncle Ron and Aunt June. I will treasure the adventures he took me on, sailing, scuba diving, camping and teaching me how to drive in the Volkswagen bus. I love you Uncle Ron❤
