In Loving memory of Victor Keith Gottschalk who passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 2nd.
Keith is survived by Patricia, his loving wife of 55 years, his daughter, Megan Kangail (Paul) of Danville, California and his son, Darren Gottschalk (Terri) of Franklin, Tennessee.
Keith is also remembered lovingly by his grandsons, Ryker and Austen Kangail, and his granddaughters, Jordan, Makena and Sheldan Gottschalk.
He is also survived by his brother, Christian Gottschalk of Minden, Nevada, and sister, Carol Williams of Reno, Nevada, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Professionally, his career spanned more than 3 decades as Director of Parks and Recreation in the California cities of Merced and South Lake Tahoe. He also held many professional Parks and Recreation Society memberships at both State and National levels.
For more than 50 years, he was an active member in a variety of service organizations including the BPOE, the Lions Club and Rotary Clubs of Merced and South Lake Tahoe.
Keith also served his country proudly as a member of the United States Marine Corps.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be sent in Keith's memory to the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund, 22570 Markey Court, Suite 240, Dulles, VA 20166. The Fund grants college scholarships to the children of disabled and deceased military members.
A memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Thunder Canyon Golf Clubhouse, 19 Lightning W Ranch Road, Washoe Valley, Nevada.
