Gladys M. Clarke Doyle

Gladys M. (Calladine) Clarke Doyle, 95, of Coventry, passed away Monday, Jan. 18, 2016 at Alpine Nursing Home.
She was the wife of the late James F. Doyle and G. Bernard Clarke. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Anne N. (Gourley) Calladine.
Mrs. Doyle was a co-owner, along with her husband G. Bernard Clarke of the former Washington Lace Works. She was a 1937 graduate of West Warwick High School, a member of the Church of the Apostles where she belonged to the Altar Guild and enjoyed being with her family, playing bridge and traveling.
She is survived by seven daughters, Anne N. Young and her husband Kenneth of Hallowell, Maine, Beth L. Khovaylo and her husband Modest of Ft. Collins, CO, Joan M. Clarke and Susan M. Clarke both of Coventry, Colleen A. Bast and her husband Scott of Roswell, GA, Cheryl M. Gammell of Mattapoisett, MA and Sharon J. Costello and her husband Patrick of Mattapoisett, MA; seven grandchildren, Sarah L. Young, Erin and Kara Bast, Robert, Marc, Thomas and Jared Gammell and two nieces and a nephew, Pamela E. Whitehead, Holly Tattrie and Geoffrey P. Read. She was the sister of the late Margaret E. Read-Anctil.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a service on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Church of the Apostles, 170 Fairview Avenue, Coventry. Interment will follow in St. Philip Cemetery, West Warwick. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 5-7 pm in the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick.
