Francis Johnson Obituary
He was born on February 26, 1938, in Ridgway, a son of the late Rudy and Cecelia Gier.
On April 20, 2005, he married Barbara Snyder, who survives.
Fran was a lifelong resident of the area and a Graduate of St. Leos School. He worked many years for the Teamsters Union and was a self-employed mason. Fran was an avid outdoorsman, loving to fish, hunt, and trap. He enjoyed going to Canada on fishing trips, spending time at camp, and going to Salamanca Casino.
In addition to his wife, Barb, he is survived by 4 children: Ken Johnson and his companion Patty of Ridgway, Jeff Johnson and his wife Lori of Brockport, Lisa Matheson and her husband Dave of Ridgway, and Greg Johnson and his wife Janet of Ridgway, a step daughter, Roxanne Barco and her husband Michael of Georgia, a stepson, Steven Berger and his wife Alejandra of Colorado, 13 grandchildren: Justin (DeAnna), Ashley (Lou), Eric, Caitlin, Evan, Tanner, Spencer, Conner, Hunter, Carter, Daniella (Riley), Samuel, and Isabella, 1 great grandchild, Lucia. He is also survived by 2 sisters: Geraldine Esposito of Brockway and Maxine Piccirillo and her husband Joe of Ridgway, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patty Chatfield, 3 brothers: Clifford, Roy, and Gerald Johnson.
Funeral Service for Francis Johnson will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at 11:00 AM and Krise Funeral Home, 130 Center Street, Ridgway, PA 15853, will Pastor Erik Hart officiating.
Friends and family will be received at Krise Funeral Home, on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ridgway Fire Department or Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

So sorry to hear this , it´s been many years since I´ve been to Ridgway , as a kid and teenager in Ridgway in-the 60´s and 70´s are families were friends and nieghbors, , when my parents went out of town Frans mom and dad would baby sit us , my condolences to the family ,, i remember you all like it was yesterday,,

Rest in peace uncle Franny....a lifetime of memories will remain with me always....especially the time you rescued me from the snake at camp on the dam. You will be truly missed and we were blessed to have you as part of the family. Condolences to the amazing family you left behind. Tell all the other Aunts ....uncles...grandma and grandpa hello...and my dad that I miss him. You are in the arms of our Lord....rest well
