Debra Alexander Obituary
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy E. Dobbins. Debby was employed at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Prior to that, she was employed as a safety professional in Oak Ridge and previously at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Ohio for 26 years. Debby was a graduate of Ohio University. Debby loved growing flowers and other outdoor activities such as kayaking, camping and hiking. In 2016, she and Paul hiked over 100 miles of trails in the Great Smoky Mountains. She loved to spend time with her family and was a wonderful grandmother to nine grandchildren and as an aunt to her nieces and nephews.
Debby is survived by her husband, Paul Alexander; her mother, Trudy Dobbins; sister, Peggy Hoover (Frank); and brother, David Dobbins (Laura). She is also survived by children, Erica Willis (Casey), Jessica Watson (Adam) and Sarah Goodsell (Rusty). Also surviving are many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial service was 5 p.m. Saturday, May 27, in the Kyker Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Susan G. Komen East Tennessee, 318 Nancy Lynn Lane No. 13, Knoxville, TN 37919. The family received friends from 4 until 5 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at Kyker Funeral Home, Kingston. www.kykerfuneralhomes.com

Debby & I worked together in Personnel Records with I first hired at the A-plant. We lost touch after both getting laid off but found each other again on FB a few years ago. We visited Debby & Paul in TN a couple years ago. I am heartbroken to hear of her passing. Paul, Trudy, and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers as you grieve your loss. I loved Debby like a sister and will miss her greatly.

Met Deb at Goodyear Atomic back in 1976. she was my escort for my pre employment physical etc before my security clearance came through. She was such a lovely sweet person. Always had that beautiful smile. I'm shocked and so sad that she's gone. My condolences to her family and keeping them in my thoughts and prayers.

I met Debbie while working at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant. We were friends for so many years. Her smile was so infectious. My condolences to her Paul and her family. She will be missed. God gained an angel. Rest In Peace.

How can you say goodbye to your best friend? There are no words to express the sadness and emptiness I feel. Though she's no longer with us physically, I know she's smiling that beautiful smile in heaven. The laughter, adventures, and memories we shared will be kept forever in a special part of my heart reserved just for Deb.
