Anna Kirk Obituary

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Anna Lee (Whitaker) Kirk who died in Radford, VA on Monday, October 30, 2023, at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hobart Davis Kirk, her mother, Virginia Mae (Bibb) Whitaker, and father, Arnold Hampton Whitaker, as well as five siblings, Emma Jane Hawley, Charles Andrew Whitaker, Myrtle Arlene Chapman, John Hampton Whitaker, and Shirley Bishop. She leaves behind her daughter, Tracy Lee Whitaker (Danville, VA), grandsons Jason Snider, Jacob Snider (Annie), and great-granddaughters Virginia Spence and Claire Elizabeth (Richmond, VA) as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Anna Lee retired after working years at Kollmorgan, then continued at Best Western Inn in Radford, VA for another decade post-retirement.
Anna Lee had a deep love for God and His creations. She dearly loved her family and friends, enjoyed meeting new people, writing, traveling, telling stories, and cooking. She was a keeper of family history, recipes, community connections, and a little gossip every now and then. She adored her cats, Max and Baby. We loved her so.
A memorial service will be held at Old Brick Presbyterian Church, 406 East Rock Road, Radford, VA, 24143 on Saturday, December 9, with family visitation at 10:30 a.m. and service at 11 a.m.
