Loretta Baum Obituary
September 28, 1937 - January 25, 2025
Loretta Caroline Adams Baum passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus, at her home in Roanoke, VA, surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 25, 2025. L. Fred Baum Jr., her devoted husband of 66 years, remained by her side until the end.
Loretta's life was one lived in service and quiet self-sacrifice for her Savior and His church, her husband, and her children. She modeled hospitality and love for the church by always opening her home and her table to friends and visitors alike.
"Children are a heritage from the Lord" (Psalm 127) - this was truly her calling and blessing. She poured her heart into raising her family and creating a loving home. Her legacy of faith and devotion will live on through the generations she nurtured.
Loretta is survived by her loving husband, L. Fred Baum Jr.; her children, Kim Baum Brandon and her husband, Paul, Beth Baum Strelow and her husband, Scott, Leslie Baum Clinton and her husband, Jeffrey, and Timothy F. Baum and his wife, Amy. She had 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
A woman of quiet strength, unwavering faith, and boundless love, Loretta will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service for Loretta will be held at Christ The King Presbyterian Church, 2335 Electric Road in Roanoke at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Visitation will be at the church at 1 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, Loretta would be honored by donations made in her memory to Covenant College or Westminster Theological Seminary. Condolences may be shared with her family at www.Oakeys.com.
