Samuel Lucas "Sam" Hale

April 17, 1985 - May 29, 2024

Samuel Lucas "Sam" Hale of Roanoke, VA, beloved son and brother, died on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. He was 39 years old.

Sam is survived by his parents, Kit and Betsy Hale; sister, Libby Azzarello and husband, Mark, their daughter, Nell; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Fred and Adrienne Bullington and paternal grandparents, Ginny and Butch Cooke and Kermit E. Hale Sr.

Sam graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 2003 and Radford University in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in business administration.

The family wishes to thank all the friends and family, near and far, who have walked this difficult journey with us. We hope that Sam will be remembered for his courage, sense of humor, kindness to the young and his elders, and his beautiful blue eyes. If you wish to donate in honor of Sam's memory, please consider the Rescue Mission Way Forward Recovery Program or the HOPE Initiative, Bradley Free Clinic.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Oakey's South Chapel. A visitation will be held an hour and thirty minutes prior to the start of the funeral service. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Burial Park. Condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.Oakeys.com.
