2021
Jack Lynn Pfledderer, 70, of Rochester, went to face the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021, after a short battle with cancer.
On Feb. 12, 1951, Jack was born to Edward and Orpha Pratt Pfledderer in LaPorte. He worked at Acument Global Technologies for 50 years as a material handler, hardly ever missing a day. He was a faithful and loyal worker and for many years didn't take vacations until it became mandatory. He saw his factory buddies as family. Jack was second on the plant's seniority list and received numerous safety awards.
He enjoyed his job, classic cars, watching movies, film trivia and visiting his favorite fast-food restaurants. He never ate anywhere without a coupon. Jack would always talk about cars, movies, food and often shared so with his friends. Those who knew him would say, "That's just Jack!"
He is survived by one son, Jason and wife Yankho Pfledderer; one daughter, Kimberly Yeager, all of South Bend; his seven grandchildren, Kamara Umbaugh, Miranda Pfledderer, Emily and husband Eric Wolf, Boston and husband Thad Summers, Dumsoni Takia, Ariana Pfledderer, Annaniah Pfledderer and Azariah Pfledderer. He also had three great-grandchildren, Jackson Wolf, Henry Wolf and Oliver Wolf.
Jack is also survived by his sisters, Barbara Wilson and Betty Brady and her companion Richard Miller, all of Rochester; his brothers Ken and Karen Pfledderer of LaCrosse and Jerry Pfledderer of Wanatah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Reba J. Pfledderer (2014), both of his parents, and his brother-in-law, Garland Wilson.
A celebration of life for Jack's family and friends will be at the I.O.O.F Cemetery, 620 W. Third Street, Rochester, on Thursday, Nov.18 at 3:15 p.m. The eulogy will be presented by Dr. Jason Pfledderer. Following the service, there will be a gathering at Solid Rock Church, 913 Main St., Rochester, ending at 5:30 pm. Arrangements are by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana.
