Charles Blasengame Obituary
Rev. Blasengame was born in Floyd County, GA, on October 22, 1955, son of the late Charles Marion Blasengame and the late Ruby Jo Thacker Blasengame. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Judy Carland. Rev. Blasengame retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation where he was the supervisor of maintenance. His true calling was preaching the Word of Christ. Rev. Blasengame spread God's word for over 40 years in various places, most recently as a part of the Cherokee Baptist Association in east Alabama, and as an independent in West Georgia. He loved tractors, deer hunting and good old Southern Gospel singing. Rev. Blasengame was a member of Bush Arbor Baptist Church
Survivors include his wife, Judy Tibbs Blasengame, Rome, to whom he was married in 1976; 2 daughters, Janna Beacham and Nikia Amerson (Freddy); his son, Clint Blasengame (Misty); 5 grandchildren, Taylor Reece Blasengame, Christian Noah Cuzzort, Cason Daniel Blasengame, Paisley Brooke Blasengame and Selena Grace Amerson; 2 great-grandchildren, Hailee Rosella Cuzzort and Jacob Lee Cuzzort; his brother, Tony Eugene Blasengame; 2 sisters, Pamela Charlene Bell and Emmely Satcher (Tim); nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Bush Arbor Baptist Church with the Rev. Buddy Carter officiating. Following the service, Rev. Blasengame will be cremated and his ashes will be spread in his "God Spot" at his house. In carrying on the legacy of Rev. Blasengame, the family requests attendees wear brightly colored attire.
The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bush Arbor Baptist Church.
The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Heyman HospiceCare at Atrium Health Floyd for their care and support of Rev. Blasengame.

David was a dear friend. We met in high school and worked at West Point Pepperell in separate departments, but we always managed to see one another before and after most of our shifts. When David entered the ministry, it thrilled my heart. I always knew David had a pastor's heart, even when we were younger. He loved people and cared deeply for his family. Although we have been separated by time and lots of miles, David still held a special place in my heart. I shall miss you, dear brother. Heaven is a sweeter place because you are there. All our love and prayers for Judy and David's precious family.
