Stanley was always one of my favorite cousins. He was so witty and had such a charming personality! I can still see him chasing his male relatives around to kiss them at family reunions with that twinkle in his eyes! He loved everyone and was a testament of a life well lived! Heaven gained such a special Angel!! I love you Stanley!!

I enjoyed my time working around Stanley, during my tenure at Floyd County Police Department. Stanley was a character and loved cutting up with people. He always found a way to make you laugh. He was definitely the life of the party.
I offer my sincerest condolences to the family of Mr. Stanley Sutton. My brother, my friend and co-worker.
RIP Stanley.

I met Stanley in Speech class @ FJC in 1975; never a dull moment! Professor laughed as much as the class at his hilarious tales! Years later I returned to Rome as a local reporter. Stanley was a detective & always available for an interview. Always the professional but still had an occasional humorous story! My husband, Tommy & I enjoyed visiting with Stanley @ the Renaissance in recent years while there to see family. Stanley was still witty as ever. We could always count on him to remember bygone Roman establishments we used to frequent! Stanley is a true Rome treasure & will be missed. Condolences to his family.

I worked with Stanley at the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (A and P) in WR after he came back from Vietnam while in college. Then as an adult was able to know him even better. A guy who love life and people.
Never ever ever be another person like Stanley. A great guy who took the oath to protect and to serve. RIP Stanley as you have now gotten your healing

Staley was perhaps the best Criminal Investigator that I have known. Once assigned a case, he would only stop once he had solved the case. Some thought he was just tenacious, but he developed a compassion for victims of crimes. Stanley was multi-dimensional; he could have been a professional comedian. I still laugh at some of the stories he would tell. He could come across as just a tough cop, but he often bought groceries for families that were down on their luck and paid rent for several families about to be evicted. His family, fellow officers, and the community he served will miss him. Jim Free

What a good guy Stanley was. If you met him once, you wouldn’t forget him. His kindness and humor was huge!
My first memory was standing behind him in lunch line when I was a freshman and he a senior at West Rome. He had such a fun way of teasing the ladies who prepared and served lunch. (Back in those days lunches were prepared on site and good food!) He had all the ladies laughing, myself included. I could tell he was a favorite, he got extra servings . All these years later, I can still see this in my minds eye.
I’m believe your goodness in this life has provided you a huge set of wings in heaven Stanley.
RIP Marine and give a nod to my Marine, he thought a lot of you too
