Tyler Jason Sutton, 40, of
Bates City, MO, died February 26, 2026, very unexpectedly. He was born August 1, 1985, in
Hutchinson, KS, to Jeff and Carrie (Wickham) Sutton.
Tyler graduated from Hutchinson High School in 2004, where he played soccer. Tyler has owned his own construction company, Sutton Contracting, since 2011. He picked up his love of construction from helping his dad on various projects as he was growing up. Tyler's approach to work was to work hard or "grind" as he called it, and to always make a difference.
On September 14, 2006, Tyler began dating Leesa Bedoe and they married on December 13, 2014, in Hutchinson. KS. She survives, as does their son, Roman, 17.
Tyler's faith in Jesus was the foundation of his life, guiding his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for others. He loved attending concerts, going to ComiCon, taking his son to amusement parks, cooking (Leesa & Roman begged him to open his own food truck), and was always on the hunt for the best Mexican food or a hidden gem of a food truck to support local businesses.
Tyler was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals; he never missed a chance to cheer loud and proud. He loved traveling to a new city or chasing the perfect sunset to photograph. He found beauty and adventure everywhere he went. Tyler loved to draw, collect artwork, and capture moments that others might overlook.
A natural jokester with a one-of-a-kind sense of humor, Tyler could light up any room with his smile and laugh. Tyler was loyal, genuine, and unforgettable - the kind of friend you keep for life. Tyler's legacy of compassion, grace, and love for Jesus and his family will live on through all who were blessed to have known him. Family and friends will greatly miss him.
Tyler is also survived by his parents: Jeff and Carrie Sutton of
Buhler, KS; sister: Emily Alamo (Erick) of
Hutchinson, KS; Father-in-law: Joseph Bedoe (Jay) of
Fort Myers, FL; Mother-in-law: Julie Fisk of

Tyler lived with a brilliance that no words on a page could ever fully capture. While we will forever miss his presence, we find comfort in knowing how he enriched your lives just as he did ours. To honor his memory and celebrate the vast scope of a life so well-loved, we leave you with these final reflections.
A message from Roman: My dad would always answer my phone call with "Hey, Buddy and end them with I love you, Buddy!" He taught me as much as he knew about life and to treat everyone with respect and kindness no matter what. He would always take me on work trips and working with him taught me that it does not always have to be all work and no play. He instilled in me that to work hard is how you make it in life. To go out and make a difference in the world. My dad became a father figure to many of my friends and always tried to include them when we went to concerts. He would also bring them to work with us. My dad's loss is the hardest thing I have ever experienced, and I just wish he would walk through the door or call me or my mom. We lost so much in losing my dad. He was our entire world. My mom and dad were together forever, and we had a lot of things we were supposed to do this year. My dad left a huge mark on the world, and I hope I can fill those same shoes. Dad, I love you and I will miss you forever. Thank you for everything you taught me and for loving me and mom like you did.
A message from Leesa to Tyler: Babe, I do not really have the words to express how profound your loss has been. The idea of living without you is the hardest thing to wrap my head around. I miss and love you every second of every day. I wear your ring around my neck and whenever I think of you or life starts to hurt too much, I hold onto it. I do not know why this is how our story ended, but I promise I will love you until we meet again. Please continue to watch over us and always know we still need you even if it is in this new form, we now have you in. You were my biggest blessing, and we created our biggest blessing in Roman. Love you always, now and forever.
