Jean D’Alessandro Obituary
She was born in Utica, on June 8, 1937, a daughter of the late Peter and Anna Catrombone Bianco and was a graduate of New Hartford High School. On August 17, 1963, she was married to Richard J. D'Alessandro in St. Thomas Church; a blessed union, of 39 years, until his passing on September 4, 2002. Jean began her work career with the General Electric Co., transitioning to ICL and lastly, Trenton Technologies, from where she retired. She loved her job at Trenton Technologies and was fond of the Mazloom family.
Jean was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing poker every Friday night for over 30 years with dear friends, also tending to her landscaping in the summer, watching sports and having a beer while watching the Yankees play. She will be sadly missed, but her family will hold her memory in their hearts.
Surviving is her daughter, Deanna Risucci, of New Hartford; her son and daughter-in-law, Richard II and Susan D'Alessandro, of VA; two cherished grandchildren, Grayson D'Alessandro and Grace Risucci; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Samuel and Eleanor "Ellie" Bianco, Peter "Junior" Bianco and Richard and Joanne Bianco; sister-in-law, Janice D'Allessandro; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7 from 4-6 p.m. at The Scala, Roefaro & Karboski Funeral Home, 1122 Culver Ave., Utica. Prayer Service will follow at the conclusion of visitation at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Abraham Hospice House in memory of Jean. Envelopes will be available.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the St. Luke's Home and Katherine Burnett and her caregivers at Long Live at Home for their care and compassion given to Jean during her illness.
