Erma Jean Conley

1930 - 2018

Erma Jean Conley passed away peacefully on Sunday August 12, 2018 in Sacramento, California due to heart failure. Jean was born on February 5, 1930 in Arkansas City, Kansas to David and Anna Mohr. She graduated from Larned Kansas High School and moved to Auburn, California soon after graduation. She worked as a waitress in Floyd's cafe where she met Leroy Conley from Vallejo, California. They were married on February 19, 1949 in Reno, Nevada.
Jean was preceded in death by her daughter Carol Janice and her son Kenneth Eugene. Jean is survived by her loving and devoted husband Leroy and her two daughters Delores Mae Herren (Bill) and Darlene Gail Greer (Ken). She is also survived by her seven grandchildren Colleen Conley Parker (Carl), Christopher Conley, Cassandra Conley-White (Joshua), John Herren, Ashley Greer Johnson (Jeremy), Phyllicia Herren Bishop (Joshua) and Kyle Greer. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, her sister and two brothers. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She worked several years as a bill collector in Southern California and Sacramento for Sears but decided to become a real estate agent. She was a successful real estate agent for Thurman & Thurman in Auburn, California for several years. Jean and Leroy moved to London, England for 5 years where she enjoyed traveling throughout Europe. Later they moved to Wamego, Kansas where they lived for several years before moving to Hot Springs, South Dakota. Jean and Leroy moved back to Sacramento, California in 2016.
She was a very talented seamstress and she loved sewing and turned her hobby into a passion making quilts for her family and friends She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. A private memorial service will be held and Jean's final resting place will be Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California.
