DANIEL F. 'DAN' CREE, 61 ROCKFORD - Daniel F. "Dan" Cree, 61, of Rockford passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, in Savanna. Born Oct. 6, 1946, in Kewanee, the son of James William and Eileen Owens. Dan married Brigitte E. Blum on Aug. 30, 1985, in Rockford. Dan was with the U.S. Army Reserves for two years. He was a self-employed truck driver and a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 325 truck drivers union. He was last employed by SandS Carthage. Dan is survived by his daughters, Carmen (John) Freeburg, Monika (James) Ishmon of Freeport and Sylvia (Jeffery) Garnhart of Mesa, Ariz.; grandchildren, Jack Freeburg and Jessica and Kaitlin Garnhart; brother, James Richard "Dick" Cree; sister, Mary Kosmecki of Lanark; mother, Eileen Owens of Wyoming, Ill.; nieces, Leslie, Melisa and Alison; and nephews, Ryan and Quin. Dan is predeceased by his wife and his father. Mass at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, in St. Bernadette Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Bolger officiating. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., and from 10 a.m. to time of Mass on Wednesday in the church.
