To Johns family, I am sorry I missed his visitation. I did not know he had passed til all was done. I just now read it in the paper and knew I needed to tell you all he will be missed. He was a great fan of Winnebago basketball and was at many of my daughters games. I loved hearing him when I was cheerleader...I use to try to make him be quiet!!!!! Coachs request!!!! no bad mouthing the refs!!! He use to tease me about that! I also took care of him when he had heart trouble and he was certainly aware of his problems and dealt with them with much grace. He is in a better place and will be waiting at the pearly gates to welcome you all in! much love Barb Neumann

Spending time on the Weerda farm growing up with Jeff and Penny is one of my best childhood memories! Jeff has been one of my best friends since Kindergarten and Penny like a big sister. I am so sorry that I missed the visitation and a chance to express my condolences in person. I simply did not know about John's passing away until today as my folks are out of town. John's tough exterior and commanding voice never fazed me as I could alway see through to that big gentle heart of his. Dad and him were a lot a like in their stubborn yet loving ways! That is just one of the things that made him such a special man. My heart is truely heavy with sorrow today as John's wonderful family has to say their final goodbyes to a good man and a good farmer, who happened to have big hands, a big heart and a twinkle in his mischievious eyes. The 'Bago basketball games and the 4th of July Parade will never be quite the same without John. It is my sincerely wish that time will help to ease the families pain and that they will be left with all the wonderful memories of John. Sincerely, Karen
