Mavis Cicero

MAVIS A. CICERO ROCKFORD - Mavis A. Cicero, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013, in SwedishAmerican Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 15, 1939, in Cornell, WI. She was the daughter of Delores Frion. She married George Cicero in December, 1959, in Rockford. Mavis worked at North Health Care for over 20 years. She was a voracious reader, loved to cross stitch, play cards and do puzzles. She loved cooking and baking for her family. Mavis enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her loving husband, George, of Rockford; her daughters, Mary (Keith) Blackwell and Toni (Jim) Koteski; grandchildren, Dan Koteski, Matt Koteski, Katie Blackwell, and Maddie Blackwell. Predeceased by her mother and her granddaughter, Abigail Blackwell. A special thanks to Dr. Diamond and Dr. Einhorn and their very caring staff, all the lovely ladies in the chemo suite, and the Ninth Floor Nursing staff at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 10, in St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Entombment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 9 a.m. until time of service, Thursday in the church.
