It´s been nearly 12 years and you popped into my thoughts today. Thank you for the short, yet sweet memories you gave to me and my classmates at Auburn high in our freshman year of 2012. You ARE remembered and your legacy carries on.

I was Mr. Fonseca's son Ricky's teacher at Lincoln School in Belvidere when they first moved here from Chicago. I was struck by what a loving, supportive family Ricky had, and by Mr. Fonseca's loving, positive attitude toward his family. My heart goes out to all of his family.
With prayers for peace and strength,

Senor Fonseca was one in a million. Truly one of the kindest people to ever come across. He made everyone feel like they mattered. He was an outstanding teacher (in life lessons as well as content area) and the best colleague a staff could ask for. He will be missed greatly!

Ray,
You made my first year at Auburn so welcoming. You openly shared your classroom, always saying, we are in this together, what is mine is yours, what is yours is mine. I will miss seeing your always smiling face.
Rest in peace my friend.

Fonseca family, I am so saddened to hear of Senior Fonseca's passing. He taught two of my sons In his Spanish class at Auburn. Both of the boys have called home and expressed their sadness and appreciation for Senior Fonseca. He meant a lot to the Auburn families, students, and staff. I will miss sitting down for conference with him. He was always proud of our kids. At the end of the conference he would share a part of his life with us. He often spoke of his family, how he was proud of his kids, or how he was ready to go and see his family. Our hearts go out to you all and we pray for peace and strength in your family. Job well done Mr. Fonseca and thank you for all you have given.

Though I only knew Ramon for a few months, we were becoming fast friends as the only two men teaching in Auburn's "pod." He was a Noble Knight who is missed by all whose lives he touched!

Mr. Fonseca... I dont even know where to begin... You've encouraged so many of us students to go through school and always believe in ourselves. You was one of the happiest people I.knew! Not one day out of the year was you unhappy. You changed alot of our lives and because of you some people turned their lives around. You will always be missed and loved. But NEVER forgotten !

Ray,
you were always a kind friend and a strong man and you helped all your neighbors on Heath Cliff. We will always be proud of your tremendous service as a soldier. I've heard you quote from memory, John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes on Him will not perish but have everlasting life."

You will be missed, Tio. I'll think about you always. I'll miss your stories, your laugh and your voice. You had a wonderful voice. I'll miss your potato salad at our family parties and I know it is going to very difficult this Thanksgiving. You always said grace for our family at the dinner table. It will be hard to not hear your voice then. I'll miss you calling me "sweetheart". Every time you would see me (hello or goodbye), you'd call me sweetheart... made me feel special. Love you!
