Randy Smith Obituary
Randy R. Smith, 73, born March 19, 1944, passed away at 4:20 a.m. February 27, 2018. He loved fishing, fast cars and his family. Randy was employed at Dodge City for 20 years as a great mechanic. He later owned and operated his own shop. He drag raced a stock (Honkin) Hemi Dodge in the 60's with his brother, known as the Smith Bros. Survived by his daughter, Kandy (Brady) Johnson; grandson, Scott (Danielle) Dickerson; granddaughter, Tiffany (Konor) Johnson; sisters, Bev Nunally, Betty Hall, and Margie (Mark)Zellers; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, Randall A. and Hattie C. Smith; son, Scott Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Norm and Sharon Smith; brother-in-law, Glenn Nunally; and nephew, Clinton Allen. Special thanks to Swedish American Palliative Care and one very special thanks to CCU nurse, Bethany Hassen.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at Olson North Main Chapel, 2811 N Main, Rockford, with visitation prior to the service from 12 to 12:45 p.m. Join family and friends for a gathering at Shogun Restaurant, 293 Executive Pkwy, Rockford, catered by the Salamone Family.
