To the wife and family of Rick Carter:
I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Rick as a close friend in school. We had some of the same classes and we played drums together. When I think of Rick a smile comes over me. He had the best sense of humor. I remember seeing him at a Harlem HS reunion . . . maybe in 1986. We had so many laughs together remembering teachers and crazy times we shared. He was the same guy I grew up with in the mid 60s. In school he once tried to help me with Algebra. He was trying to explain something and we could do nothing but crack each other up with dumb stuff. I would have enjoyed knowing him more in life. He was a true friend.
My thoughts are with you.

Jessica, it is with shock and sorrow that we learned of Rick's passing. We had so many good times growing up and being buddies through high school and fellow drummers in the Harlem Band. Please accept our most sincere condolences. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
