Robert Anthony Obituary
Robert "Bob" Anthony Jr., of Rockford departed this earthly life January 9, 2017, at Rockford Memorial Hospital. He was born July 19, 1931, in Durant, MS; the son of Robert Sr. and Maggie Anthony. Robert lived in Rockford 69 years, coming from Durant, MS. He was employed by Chrysler Corporation 27 years before retiring. Robert was a member of Liberty Baptist Church serving as a Deacon and Trustee; he was a former member of Christian Union Baptist Church and United Faith Missionary Baptist Church. He attended school in Mississippi. Robert leaves to cherish many loving memories, two daughters, Yalanda and Veronica Anthony; three sons, Robert Paul Anthony, Mark (Monica) Anthony and Jonathan Anthony; four grandchildren; companion of many years, Joan Tilson; brother, J.D. (Gurdine) Anthony; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.
Services will be held at noon Saturday, January 14, 2017, at United Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 250 N. Pierpont Street. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home, 2429 W. State St.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the children (Yalanda, Veronica, Robert, Mark and Jonathan) for the passing of your father. There are no words that can heal the pain of losing a parent but my prayer is that each of you will find some peace in your hearts during this time. Although physically he is no longer here, his spirit continues to live on in how he raised each and every one of you. My heartfelt prayers are with you all.
