Robert Redner Obituary

Robert L. Redner Sr., 87 POPLAR GROVE - Robert L. Redner Sr., 87, of Poplar Grove died Saturday, March 19, 2011, surrounded by his family. Born July 25, 1923, the son of Lewis and Irene (Calhoun) Redner in Belvidere. He graduated from Belvidere High School, Class of 1941. After graduation, Robert enlisted into the U.S. Army Air Force and served his country until his honorable discharge. He enjoyed hunting, trap shooting and gardening. Robert was a machinist by trade but also enjoyed welding and being a hobby machinist at home where he could fix anything. He is survived by his children, Linda (Steven) Jero, Bob (Kristy) Redner, Debbie (Neil) Thornton, Donald (Vicki) Redner and Roger (Carey) Redner; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Jim (Donna) Redner. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, Harold; and grandsons, Steven Winek and Daniel Johnson Jr. The family would like to thank Beloit Regional Hospice, Meals on Wheels of Rockford and the many friends and neighbors who helped Robert during his time of need. Service at noon Wednesday, March 23, in Brian Mark Funeral Home, 504 Milwaukee Road, Clinton, Wis., with visitation from 11 a.m. to service time. The Rev. Ian Stirrat will officiate. Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, in the funeral home. Interment and military burial rites in Sharon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
