Marvin James Redner, age 85, of
Corning, New York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 25th, 2025, surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 9, 1940, in Buffalo, New York, the son of the late George Redner and Tinnie Green. Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1960. He married the love of his life, Marianna Hultzman, on July 25th, 1981.
Marvin worked for many years as a road surveyor for local construction companies and was known for his strong work ethic and attention to detail. A lifelong and passionate New York Yankees fan, he rarely missed a game and loved sharing his enthusiasm for baseball with family and friends.
In his free time, Marvin will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, and deep love for his family. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, sharing stories from his Army days, and offering a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a friend of Bill W. for 43 years.
Marvin is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 44 years, Marianna Redner; daughter, Sandra (Donald) Leben of Saranac Lake, NY; and two cherished grandchildren: Marisa Leben and Rachel Leben, both of Saranac Lake. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Norman (Sherry) Hultzman of Pine City; niece, Marla (Jim) Gannon of Bradenton, FL; and nephews: Dennis (Debbie) BeGell of Addison, Robert (Arlene) Drooby of Waterford, NY, and Mark (Caroline) Drooby of Schenectady, NY, Sam (Stacie) Hultzman of Gambrillis, MD, James (Candice) Hultzman of Arlington, VA.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was predeceased by his siblings: Alice Redner, George W. Redner, Robert P. Redner, Helen Drooby, and Dorothy BeGell; nephew, David BeGell; niece, Tina McKinley.
Family and friends are invited to call at Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney Street,
Corning, NY, on Saturday, July 5, 2025, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, with a brief memorial service to follow. Interment with full military honors will take place on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 11:30am at Hope Cemetery.
