Sandra L. Havens 1946—2016
Sandra L. Havens, 69, of Belvidere, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Sandy was born July 21, 1946, in Rockford, IL, daughter of Darwin and Esther (Brown) Peterson. Sandy graduated from Belvidere High School in 1964. She married her high school sweetheart, Leon "Lee" Havens on June 20, 1964, in Belvidere. Sandy was employed at Arnold Engineering in Marengo for 46 years; she and Lee worked a combined 88 years for the company. She was a part of the Kroozers Car Club, where she and Lee drove a 1955 Ford Fairlane. Sandy enjoyed puzzle books, card games, gambling, and reading. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, and traveling with Lee. Sandy is loved and missed by her husband, Lee; children, Lori (Eddie) Wedding, Mike (Lisa) Havens, Jeremy (Lisa) Havens; grandchildren, Tyler Wedding, A.J. (Sam) Wedding, Cassandra (Christian) Cornellier, Bryce Havens, Brittney Havens, Kaylynn Havens, and Eric Havens; 3 great-granddaughters and 4 great-grandsons; aunt, Loraine Lucas. She is preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Zita Peterson, step-father, Gene Stensrud and uncle, Ronald Peterson.
Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
