Thomas Lepore Obituary

THOMAS LEPORE, 83 BELVIDERE - Thomas Lepore, 83, of Belvidere passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2011. Born March 1, 1928, in Chicago; son of Venanzio and Carmela (Ruggiero) Lepore. Married Janet (Cline) Lepore on May 1, 1948. Tom served in the Army during the Korean War. He was employed by the Chicago Police Department for 30 years, retiring in 1988. Tom's hobby was as a master clock maker and above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his wife of 63 years, Janet. Survivors include wife, Janet; children, Thomas V. (Deborah Shaddon) Lepore of Wheaton and Karen C. Lepore of Geneva; grandchildren, Timothy, Kevin and Annie Lepore; sister, Luigina Stoltzner; brother-in-law, Angelo Gambino; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; sisters, Amelia DeMarco and Jennie Gambino; and brother-in-law, Anthony DeMarco. Service at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford. Burial in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, and from 9:30 a.m. Friday to time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4312 E. State St., Rockford, IL 61108. To express condolences online, please visit www.fitzgeraldfh.com.

Mr. Lepore was such a wonderful and supportive friend to my father; he was always so generous and kind to my entire family. He will be deeply missed, and always remembered.
