Valentia Fresco Obituary
Valentia Jovan Fresco, 34, of Rockford departed this earthly life April 16, 2016. He was born April 16, 1982, in Rockford; the son of Rosie Blake and Francisco Fresco. Valentia was employed as a machine operator by Mid-State Production four years. He was a member of Faith Walkers Assembly. Valentia participated in the Sunday Adult Basketball League at Patriots Gateway. He graduated from East High School, class of 2001, later to attend Rock Valley College receiving his CNC certification. Valentia leaves to cherish many loving memories, two sons, Shad Jovan Fresco and Valentia Jovan Fresco Jr.; mother, Rosie; two brothers, Pierre (Nyesha) Fresco and Nathan Dulin; and sister, Gwendolyn Foreman; paternal grandmother, Romana Fresco; fiancée, Iris Valcarcel; nephew, Pierre Fresco Jr.; niece, Nylayah Fresco; a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father, maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2016, at Faith Walkers Assembly, 410 8th Street. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home, 2429 W. State St.

Been knowing Johan for 15 years. That was my boy. He was one of the coolest and goofiest people you ever can meet. He also had my back and always was there when I needed him. My grandmother also loved Johan and when she passed away 2 months ago he was right there by my side at her funeral. Never thought 2months later I would be attending his. I'm a miss my boy so much and my heart goes out to the family. I love you bro

Although I didn't meet Jovan, I knew him through his brother Nate, my son, who loved him so much ! Every single day that he was part of Nate's life, was a gift that will be treasured. I am so deeply saddened that he was taken too soon...so grateful for the time and memories that were given by this young man. We will keep him alive, in those memories, and in our hearts forever - especially for his children. R.I.P. Valentia "Jovan" Fresco...you were loved by so many !
