VERONICA 'VICKI' SODERBERG, 89 ROCKFORD - Veronica "Vicki" Soderberg, 89, formerly of Rockford, passed away at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, in Edgewater Haven Nursing Home, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. Born Jan. 4, 1921, in Auburndale, Wis., the daughter of Joseph and Caroline (Pongratz) Pankratz. Married Lawrence Soderberg on May 27, 1943, in Rockford; he died April 3, 1989. Vicki moved to Rockford in 1940 and lived here until 1982, when she and her husband moved to Minocqua, Wis. After his death she moved to Wisconsin Rapids, where she was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Survived by sister, Jean Szafranek; and brother, Raymond (Marion) Pankratz, both of Wisconsin Rapids; special sister-in-law, Delores Bergstrom of Rockford; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sterling and Norma Moore of Davis Junction and Lorraine Seier of Rockford; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased also by seven brothers, and five sisters. Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, in St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Drive, Rockford, with visitation from 12 to 12:45 p.m. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
