William Blachford Obituary

WILLIAM J. BLACHFORD, 88 CAPRON - William J. Blachford, 88, of Capron passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Home Bridge Center, Belvidere. Born Sept. 29, 1923, in Spring Township, Boone County, son of Albert and Daisy (Heywood) Blachford. Attended Curtis School, Spring Twp. Married Velma Adaleen Eisenhauer on Nov. 7, 1948 in Clinton, Wis. William served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a dairy farmer all his life. Member of the American Legion. Survived by wife, Velma Adaleen Blachford; son, Alan W. Blachford of Capron; daughter, Alane Blachford (Marciano) Pena of Loves Park; brother, Donald (Barb) Blachford of Belvidere; sisters, Theo Hildebrand of Belvidere, Lorraine Blachford of Miller, S.D., Berneitta Kays of Bradenton Beach, Fla., Margaret Kariainen of Trout Creek, Mich., and Alberta (Gerald) Bowen of DeForest, Wis. Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Francis, Albert, Eli, and two in infancy; sister, Jane Sullivan. Service at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, in Belvidere Funeral Home, with visitation from 1 p.m. to time of service; the Rev. Gregory L. Carlson will officiate. Interment in Blaine Cemetery. A memorial is being established in his memory.
